Here is a condensed version of what's happening on the housing front near your community:
Norristown – While the county-funded supportive housing proposal was approved by the Zoning Hearing Board, staff at the Norristown Hospitality Center are looking for a new permanent location after losing their own ZHB application. Services are being provided on a temporary basis at the Montco SAAC in Norristown (Chain Street entrance).
Towamencin - Local debate is heating up over which residential development proposal should be selected for the Freddy Hill Farms property. The Board of Supervisors meets tonight at 7 p.m. and will hear a presentation from the county Planning Commission.
Lower Providence - Public hearings have finally wrapped up for RHD’s Genny’s Place appeal. The local Zoning Hearing Board is expected to vote at a public meeting on Thursday, June 26, at 6:30 p.m.
Upper Gwynedd – The Cornerstone at Pennbrook affordable housing proposal (Walters Group) has yet to be officially scheduled for final land development before the board of commissioners. Delays have been attributed to a landscape plan and sewer planning module.
Pottstown – In a major step forward for the unhoused in western Montgomery County, leaders of Beacon of Hope Church broke ground last week on their Permanent Housing and Resource Center! Once completed next year, it will provide 45 individual rooms and services.
Main Line – Montco 30% recently convened a dinner with elected officials and staff from Narberth Borough, Lower Merion Township, and the Montgomery County Planning Commission to discuss local initiatives such as transit oriented development and accessory dwelling units (ADUs).
