Over the last two years, there has been a noticeable increase in the volume of advocacy calls related to housing – and that, in part – is because of you! But we can’t pump the brakes to pause our efforts now.

Please join me in Harrisburg on June 2nd for our annual Day of Advocacy! You will stand alongside neighbors, voters, and advocates from Bucks Mont Collaborative, the TCN Network, Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania, Mental Health Partnerships, and Community Collaborate Connect.

For more information or to reserve a seat on the bus, RSVP today

Voters Want State Action on Housing

One of the reasons we are meeting with lawmakers from the PA House and Senate on June 2 is to remind them about the popularity of pro-housing legislation. The results of a recent YouGov poll are clear

  • 84% of Pennsylvania voters agree that the state legislature should take action to address the cost and availability of homes

As I stated in the 10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania press release:

"A majority of voters in Pennsylvania recognize that we simply cannot relegate nearly all major decisions on housing to local elected and appointed officials in our over 2,500 municipalities. Housing is too important and too vital to our residents' well-being. Because we have failed to keep up with demand and failed to build enough attainable housing for all income levels, we need action at the state level to help address our housing crisis. Housing markets also need predictability; having 2,000 different building and zoning codes works against that. We need statewide standards."

Bipartisan majorities of voters support key housing reforms that would allow more homes to be built in Pennsylvania.
